Greetings, My name is Kieran Fraser

I'm a PhD Candidate of the ADAPT Center for Digital Content Technology in Trinity College Dublin. My research is in the field of Personalisation and current work includes Mobile Notification Management through Ubiquitous Data Modeling and Context-aware computing.

I completed my M.A.I. in Computer Engineering at Trinity College Dublin in the summer of 2016 with an overall final grade of Distinction. I have most recently completed a 3 month internship with Lumafit - creators of fitness, health and wellness mobile applications. Previous to this, I had multiple internships with both public and private sector organizations leading the charge of innovation in their respective fields.

Pursing my passion for technology and learning I have also participated in a number of Hackathons on both sides of the Irish border, one of which resulted in a win. I'm also actively involved with clubs and societies within Trinity. I am currently a member of the Trinity badminton committee and am also an active member of SUAS. Among other interests are sport, music and art.

    I'm currently pursing my PhD at the ADAPT Centre, Trinity College Dublin in the field of 'Personalising the User Experience'. My research revolves around the contextual control and delivery of Mobile Notifications.

    2011 - 2016

    I studied general Engineering for the first two years of my Undergruate degree which encompassed: Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electronic and Biomedical Engineering subjects. In third year I entered the Computer Engineering stream. Fourth year comprised of a 6 month internship which I undertook in the ICT sector of Revenue. During my Masters year I undertook a research project entitled 'Notification Abstraction: An Info-bead modeling approach to personalised notification management'.

Work Experience

  • Lumafit Inc

    Tasked with designing a cloud-based back-end for "Lumafit", an Interactive Fitness Coach mobile application. This included implementing a Firebase real-time database as a solution which required redesigning the current SQLite processes within the app. Also implemented a migration process for transferring existing users' data to the cloud.

  • Revenue, Ireland

    This was a 6 month internship I undertook as part of my 4th year at Trinity College Dublin studying for my B.A.I. in Computer Engineering. I was an Executive Officer within the Information & Communications Technology and Logistics Division of Revenue. This division is highly regarded throughout Europe for its high standards of innovation in technology.

  • Aon Centre for Innovation and Analytics

    Created and maintained a Knowledge Base for the Carrier Services Team. Updated the Carrier Services team internal Web page (using Microsoft Sharepoint). Project Managed an intern marketing project to create a business intelligence dashboard. Using, on a day-to-day basis, software such as Microsoft Sharepoint, Tableau and Microsoft SQL Server. Presented the intern project to the CEO of ACIA. Also presented the business intelligence dashboard to the CBO and CCO of the company.

  • Septentrio Satellite Navigation

    Debugging software issues registered by customers (using Bugzilla). Post-processing results and contributed to upkeep of in house tests for software. Implemented new feature on the post-processing interface used internally by the company. Presenting work and results to the team and group leader at the end of each sprint as well as other leaders from other faculties of the company.
