Opportunities exist for undertaking postgraduate study within the School of Computer Science and Statistics by research alone (to M.Sc. and Ph.D. levels) and by combined course and dissertation (to M.Sc. level only). The normal entry requirement for M.Sc. level study is a primary degree in a relevant discipline at either first or upper second level. It is possible for students to enter the PhD. programme directly or to transfer to the Ph.D. register after one year of satisfactory research at M.Sc. level.
Many of the research projects undertaken within the School are sponsored by European Union programmes, Irish funding agencies and industry sources. Some of these projects are in a position to sponsor students enrolled in postgraduate degree programmes. Interested students should contact the relevant member of academic staff, or the Head of School. For more details see the School website.
The Graduate Studies website contains general information on postgraduate opportunities within Trinity College, including details on the necessary documents for application to a postgraduate course, information for EU and non-EU applications, links to research awards and fees and information for students with special requirements.
