M.Sc. in Computer Science

Prospective Students

The new MSc in Computer Science has a common set of entry criteria and leads to a Master's degree in Computer Science specializing in one of four exciting areas:  Data Science, Intelligent Systems, Graphics & Vision Technologies and Future Networked Systems.

The course is designed and taught by  staff at Trinity College Dublin who are renowned research leaders in their fields. The course content is inspired by their cutting-edge work as well as their contacts with leading industry researchers around the globe.

In the first semester, you will gain the necessary skills in  Research Methods (to enable you to produce your dissertation), Innovation (to equip you with skills in company formation or innovating within a large company) and Machine Learning (a foundational technique for each of the specializations).   In addition, you will make a start on the specialist modules in your chosen strand.
During the 2nd term, you will begin foundational work on your dissertation, and  immerse yourself in modules of your chosen strand.

The 3rd semester will be exclusively focussed on your Dissertation, doing experimental work, building prototypes and writing up your work.

We expect our graduates to be in high-demand for top-end research & development positions within leading multi-national companies and from startup-companies alike.  There will also be opportunities to progress to PhD study with many funded positions available locally.  Find Where our Graduates Go here

Applications are will open for the academic year 2017/18 on November 1st 2016, and will remain open until all places are filled or at the very latest: 30th June 2017.
