Celebrating 50 year of Computing at Trinity College
Last night 26th November, alumni, staff and friends gathered to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Department of Computer Science at Trinity.
Judging by the constant chatter across dinner in the surroundings of the splendid Dining Hall, the air was full of delight and cheer as the 50 year journey was recalled by many speakers, led by the Provost, Dr. Patrick Prendergast. A tribute to the late Professor John Byrne and his everlasting legacy was eloquently delivered by Professor Jeremy Jones and Professor Jane Grimson.
Paul Hayes, MC for the evening, kept all in check and regaled the audience with the timely introductions of videos of both old and 'very old' which brought great cheer from the floor.
Thanks to Professor Gerard Lacey and the TCD Alumni team for a wonderful evening.
