The purpose of this module is to provide an introduction to the practical uses of computer applications particularly in the area of word processing, spreadsheets, presentation packages and web page design and development. This module is a computer laboratory based module. Students are given notes that encourage self paced learning. Interaction with the module instructor and peers is encouraged.
|Recommended Reading List|
This module is entirely examined by continuous assessment. Over the semester students hand in approximately 7-8 assignments, based on a mixture of individual and group work. Students must attend a minimum of 75% of classes and are expected to obtain a passing grade of 40% in the coursework. Failure to achieve this may result in students having to undertake additional project work satisfactorily over the summer in order to pass the year.
