V-SENSE – Extending Visual Sensation through Image-Based Visual Computing

Our core research objective is to Extend the Dimensions of Visual Sensation through novel algorithms and workflows for Image-Based Visual Computing expanding the classical 2D video viewing experience common today, and to enable and support new consumer behaviours and preferences in consumption and creation of such content.
The three main pillars of our research are:

  • Extend 2D sensing, which relates to novel techniques in high dynamic range, wide colour gamut, high framerate, and high resolution imaging;
  • Enhance immersion via research in areas, such as virtual and augmented reality, 3D depth perception, interactive viewpoint selection, or look around capabilities;
  • Empower casual creatives, who create content for social media or online platforms.
