Travel information

Finding TCD

Trinity College, Dublin is located in the center of Dublin. The college has a number of maps online.

Arriving by air

The TCD campus is in the center of Dublin city and is easily accessible from the airport. The cheapest route is to take one of the bus services that operate from the airport. Dublin Bus operate an express bus service (taking about half an hour, and costing €5), and a local bus service which costs €2.60 (but which is slightly slower and which requires exact change in coins). There is also an aircoach service which costs €7, which includes a stop outside the front gate of Trinity College.

A Taxi from the airport to the center of the city will cost from €15 to €25 (depending on the traffic). If you are staying on the campus then tell the driver to take you to the front gate (on College Green).

More details on reaching the city from the airport can be found at the Dublin Airport website. A handy map of the city center showing the location of the TCD campus is here.

Staying on campus

If you have chosen to stay on campus then you can check in by visiting the accomodation office, which is conveniently located in the west chapel building near the front gate of the TCD campus (if you are checking the city map the front gate of TCD is western end of the campus). The accomodation office is open from 8.30am until midnight. The college maps show the exact location of the Chapel building, which is almost immediatly on your left as you enter the campus.

Finding the building

The workshop venue is located in the Lloyd building, at the extreme East end of Trinity College (see map). When you enter the building, follow the signs to find the IFL05 registration desk. If you cannot find us just ask the staff who are usually based near the building doorways.

Entering via Front gate

If you enter the TCD campus via front gate (at college green) then you should walk the full length of the campus to find the building.

Entering via Westland Row

Westland Row is the street running directly behind the Hamilton building at the East end of College (see the maps). The entrance (under the railway bridge) is a pedestrian entrance to the college. If you enter via this gate just follow the perimeter of the building around to your left until you see the entrance of the Lloyd building to your right.

If you arriving by train then you should try to make your way to Pearse street Dart station (which is in fact on Westland Row). The TCD entrance is directly opposite the station exit.

Parking

There is an NCP car park available on Pearse Street (which runs along the North wall of TCD). The car park is along this road and slightly east of TCD. Unfortunatly TCD does not have sufficient on-campus parking to allow delegates to park within the campus.
