Professional Activities

Prof. Cahill recently served as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mathematics and Science, one of the University's three faculties. In this role he was a member of the University's Executive Management Team and was responsible for the provision of academic and strategic leadership within the Faculty and, as such, also oversaw staffing and finance matters.

Prof Cahill has previously served as the University's Dean & Vice-President for Research with responsibility for coordinating the University's research, innovation, technology transfer, and entrepreneurship strategies.

He has also served as Head of the Department of Computer Science, Head of the Discipline of Computer Systems, Director of Research for Computer Science and Statistics, Director of Teaching and Learning (Postgraduate) for Computer Science and Statistics, Head of the Distributed Systems Group, and Course Director for the MSc in Computer Science (Networks and Distributed Systems) and the MSc in Computer Science (Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing).
