Role: TCD Supervisor

SFI Centre for Research Training in Digitally Enhanced Reality (2019-2023) will focus on the development of digital skills for next generation human-centric media technology, including machine intelligence-based sensing and understanding of digital content and information, its transformation and personalisation, its multimodal interaction and delivery via speech, text, video, image and VR/AR, and its impactful application in multiple industry and societal settings. Role: Co-PI with Vladimir Krylov and Julie Connelly

AIMapIT (supported by Enterprise Ireland Commercial Fund CF-2019-1092-I and Feasibility CF-2017-0657-Y) is an innovative AI solution for discovery, detection and GPS mapping of stationary objects (e.g. street furniture, post boxes, various poles and street lamps, traffic lights and signs, transport stops, benches, vegetation).

Bonseyes project (2016-2019) is a Research and Innovation Action (Call H2020-ICT-2016-1, Project ID: 732204). It aims to develop a platform consisting of a Data Marketplace, Deep Learning Toolbox, and Developer Reference Platforms for organisations wanting to adopt Artificial Intelligence in low power Internet of Things (IoT) devices (edge computing), embedded computing systems, or data center servers (cloud computing). Adapt centre (2016-2020) is a research centre that combines expertise of researchers at four universities (Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University, University College Dublin and Dublin Institute of Technology) with that of its industry partners to produce ground-breaking digital content innovations. With research funding from Science Foundation Ireland and industry, ADAPT research and technologies will help businesses in all sectors to manage, personalise and deliver digital content more effectively.

GRAISearch: Graphics Rendering and Artificial Intelligence for Improved Mobile Search Capabilities

Role: Coordinator
Graisearch project (2014-2018) is Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways funded under the EU FP7-PEOPLE-2013-IAPP call. The principal aim of this project is to develop and apply revolutionary graphics rendering and artificial intelligence (AI) methods to an existing social media search engine platform thereby creating ground breaking mobile search capabilities with significant online commercial potential.

3D Jigsaw

Role: Principal Investigator
3D Jigsaw project (2016-2018) is an innovation partnership project supported by Enterprise Ireland (IP 20160460). This project aims at developping sotware for registration of multispectral images and for providing fast 3D rendering.
