I am a member of Graphics Vision and Visualisation Group (GV2) group part of the Intelligent Systems discipline in the School of Computer Science and Statistics, contributing to the Creative Technologies research theme and to the ADAPT Centre for Digital Content Technology. I am leading a research team focusing on data analysis & visualisation. I currently serve as president of the Irish Pattern Recognition and Classification Society (IPRCS) and representative of the IPRCS on the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR). Since 2005, I have been teaching on topics in Mathematics & Statistics and serve as tutor for the College since 2009.
My research interests are in between the traditional fields of Electronic and electrical engineering (digital signal processing), Computer Science (computer vision & graphics), artificial intelligence (data mining, machine learning) and Mathematics (Statistics, Information theory, decision theory, functional analysis).
