Head of school image Welcome! to the School of Computer Science and Statistics at Trinity College Dublin, an innovative and energetic centre for academic study and research. The School, created following the amalgamation of the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Statistics, is centred in the O'Reilly and Lloyd Institutes at the east end of the campus. Since its formation, it has grown to become one of the largest Schools in the University with a community of 800 undergraduates, 480 postgraduates and in excess of 150 members of staff.

Applications Now Open for New MSc Computer Science

We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the new MSc in Computer Science commencing in September 2017. The course, which allows specialization in one of four strands: Data Science, Intelligent Systems, Future Networked Systems and Graphics & Vision Technologies, is a new design building on the many successful MSc courses run at Trinity since the very first in 1962. It builds on the considerable research strengths of Trinity's school of computer science & statistics including the ADAPT, CONNECT, GV2 and Future Cities research centres.

There has been a high level of interest in the course with enquiries coming in from India, China, Brazil, USA and the UK in the weeks since the course was announced. Prof. Donal O'Mahony, the course director, has high expectations for this course. "We know that there is a huge demand for graduates with these specializations, in Ireland and across the world", he said. "Our goal is to attract really high quality applicants from across the globe and deliver top-class graduates who are well versed in the latest technologies and have the capacity to be leaders in their chosen fields". ...
